Family sessions offered on institutional closures

Updated: Oct 3

The Disability Support Program (DSP) and Inclusion Nova Scotia will be hosting Family Sessions across the province to discuss the closure of institutional settings and transition to community for persons with disabilities in Nova Scotia.

These sessions will be for the families and support networks of DSP participants currently living in an Adult Residential Centre (ARC), Regional Rehabilitation Centre (RRC), or Residential Care Facility (RCF).

The goal of these sessions will be to share information on closure, such as timelines and supports, as well as provide a safe environment for families impacted by closure to ask questions.

Please note, all in-person sessions will share the same information, while the virtual session will be for an overview of topics covered and general information sharing. If your family member lives in another area of Nova Scotia, you are welcome to attend the family session that is most convenient for you. Please contact your loved one’s residential service provider to register!
